Soma Farhad: If we don't get information about our detainees, we'll resort to other methods

KDP Asayish arrested the administrators and members of the Kurdistan Free Women Organization, Khawla Mohammad Hassan, Joanna Abdel-Baqi and Siran Ahmed Hassan, while they were returning from Shengal after their participation in the commemoration of the anniversary of the Shengal massacre, the fate of the detainees is still unknown.

Spokeswoman of the Kurdistan Free Women's Organization, Soma Farhad, said in a statement to ANHA agency that their institutions operate officially and is licensed in Southern Kurdistan. However, the members of the organization were arrested and their fate is still unknown. She stressed that they will resort to other methods if their fate is not revealed.

Soma Farhad said that many institutions had participated in the anniversary of the Shengal massacre, but what it was noted that KDP authorities had arrested only Free Women's Organization members, saying" There are many feminists in Southern Kurdistan. All feminists' movement were supposed to meet in Shengal, but unfortunately no one but us participated, our institution is licensed in Iraq and Southern Kurdistan, and we can go to any city. So why were our comrades arrested? So far their fate remains unknown. We'll wait for two more days, and if we don't get any information about them, we'll use other methods. We will organize the protests until our comrades are released. "

Soma Farhad also noted that two of the female detainees have young children: "Their children's condition is bad. We are trying to be with their children in this difficult period."

Soma Farhad said that Shengal province had been massacred, but that danger threatened other parts of Kurdistan. The fact that feminists are not directed at Shengal is criticized. Years ago, crimes were committed against women in particular in Shengal, where they were captured to be sold in slave markets, we can also be subjected to such brutality, so women must fight these policies. "

Soma Farhad appealed to all women to confront these policies: "We are waiting for all women to stand by our female detainees. The arrest of women members of our institution poses a serious threat to feminist movement. This detention is not only targeted at our comrades, but is the result of policies against feminists. The arrest of our comrades poses a great danger to  feminist movement. "

The arrest of members of the Kurdistan Free Women Organization by the Kurdistan Democratic Party is not a new policy, as the party's forces are still arresting the representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in Southern Kurdistan, and his fate has been unknown for 60 days.
