Syriac Military Council's spokesman: We will sacrifice to protect our people

Yesterday, the villages of Tel Tamr of Al-Hasakah canton witnessed a barbaric bombardment launched by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries which caused a state of displacement as a result of direct bombardment of inhabited villages and the injury of an elderly woman, in addition to the killing of two elements of the Damascus government forces.

As part of their right to legitimate defense, the forces of Tel Tamr Military Council responded to the sources of fire, through which they destroyed a point of the Turkish occupation on Al-Manakh Hill, and inflicted huge losses of life and material on the occupation and its mercenaries.

In this regard, ANHA interviewed the Spokesman for the Syriac Military Council, Mattai Hanna, to talk about the latest field developments.

He told ANHA "In the past days, we noticed a military escalation by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the entire border line separating us from the occupation and its mercenaries, but yesterday the occupation targeted the villages of Tel Tamr extensively and indiscriminately with artillery and heavy weapons."

He added, "The occupation targeted several villages, including the Assyrian villages, and it was clear through its indiscriminate shelling of inhabited villages that its goal was to commit massacres against civilians and displace them."

Our forces responded to the sources of fire to protect our people and reduce escalation

Hanna pointed out that they in the Tel Tamr Military Council and the Syriac Military Council responded to the sources of fire, adding, "We are also ready to respond within the framework of legitimate defense to protect our people," stressing that their response came "to stop the attacks."

He noted, "After we monitored the mercenaries' movements and their targeting of our people's safe villages, we targeted al-Manakh Hill which is considered a base for the occupation and its mercenaries. During our response, we were able to kill a number of mercenaries and injure others, in addition to inflicting heavy losses on them of equipment."

We will defend our people

In the context of his speech, Mattai Hanna sent a message to the people of the region, saying, "We will make sacrifices in order to protect our people, and we will be a strong barrier against any aggression that tries to undermine their safety."

The international community should stop Turkey's crimes

At the end of his speech, Spokesman for the Syriac Military Council criticized the Russian guarantor's evasion of its responsibilities, and said, "What we see from the Russian forces towards Turkish crimes does not indicate that they entered the region for a ceasefire," calling on the international community to stop the crimes of the Turkish occupation against the region and its people.
