94 martyrs in Derik commemorated

The Martyrs' Families Council in Derik organized the commemoration of 94 martyrs in the presence of the martyrs' families, members of civil society institutions and the people of Derik, in the closed Kornish stadium.

The memorial ceremony began with a minute of silence, after which the names of martyrs were read by the Martyrs' Families Council in Derik city.

After reading the names, the administrator of the Democratic Union Party in Girke Lege, Diyar Hassen, gave a speech in which he pledged to follow the footsteps of martyrs "until they achieve their goals that they struggled for."

Hassen stated that "everyone must carry out the duties entrusted to them, such as organizing society and having a sense of responsibility to preserve the gains made with the martyrs' blood."

After that, a short film was shown that included the history and struggle of the 94 martyrs who were martyred in different places and times in the Mountains of Kurdistan and north-east Syria.

The memorial ceremony ended with a number of revolutionary songs amid the mothers' trills and slogans glorifying the martyrs.
