Northern Democratic Brigade: Everything has been changed by imposing Turkification policy

Mahmoud Habib, spokesman for the Northern Democratic Brigade (Liwa Al-Shamal Al-Democrati) confirmed that the situation in the city of Idlib is very dire amid Turkish attempts to annex the occupied areas to Turkey.

After 2019, Idlib became a core stronghold for all those who were sacrificed following the barter deals between Russia and Turkey during the Astana meeting, spokesman for the Northern Democratic Brigade (Liwa Al-Shamal Al-Democrati) "Within two years, one million and four hundred thousand people were displaced to a narrow square in the province of Idlib, with a width of 40 km and a length of no more than 60 km, in addition to the indigenous population of Idlib."

Mahmoud Habib indicated that the number of Idlib city residents now exceeds 4 million, and they live in very difficult political, security and economic conditions. He said, "politically, the Idlib Governorate under domination Jabhet al-Nusra, and Islamist factions affiliated with Turkey, which treat them as citizens under occupation, and these factions dominate economically, blackmail and control the population." And he indicated that the situation in Idlib is very dire, and a radical solution is awaited, like all the areas occupied by Turkey.

Habib noted that Russia had asked Turkey to reschedule the mercenary factions in Idlib and to get the more hardline and radical groups out of them. He said: "This demand was for media consumption only." Russia was exploiting in those groups and using them as a pretext to bomb the city on a daily basis to empty it of its indigenous people, and Turkey was investing in them as well.

Habib highlighted the tricks of the Turkish occupation state, and pointed out that Turkey has restructured and names these mercenary factions several times, and this game has become open to everyone, and does not produce any solutions, and said: "Turkey is now fabricating a demographic change in the Afrin region and the rest of the occupied areas."

Mahmoud Habib confirmed that the mercenary factions that follow Turkey’s orders did not serve the Syrian “revolution” or the Syrian people, and said: “They were able to eliminate the Syrian revolution from the inside; Idlib region, the northern countryside of Hama, and the Hama region, all the way to the eastern countryside of Homs, Qalamoun, and to the Ghouta were burning and rebellious areas. The regime, which used its full military power, and which used the Lebanese Hezbollah, Iranian militias, and Russia, was unable to quell that revolution.

Habib explained that the "Islamic groups" that were implanted in the body of the revolutionary Syrian society through Turkish intelligence, Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood diverted the "revolution" from its true path and tore it apart, and it became easy prey for all forces, including the Damascus Government, Turkey and Russia, and said: "These groups did not provide anything for the revolution." It was the poisoned dagger in the side of the revolution.”

Habib pointed out that many international intelligence agencies were able to tamper with the Syrian file, led by the Turkish intelligence and behind it the Muslim Brotherhood, which takes Turkey as a place for it, "and these agencies were able to change the demands of the Syrian revolution from freedom to national, religious, sectarian demands." He stressed that the Syrian people in northern Syria are victims of those mercenary factions that are clients to Turkey.

Habib appealed to the Syrians who joined the mercenary factions to return to their senses, and explained that all the people of northern Syria are completely resentful of the Turkish occupation and suffer greatly from the domination and tyranny of those factions, and said: "These areas are occupied and their people are under occupation, and they are managed by Turkish governors, and they are imposed Turkish currency, everything has been changed by Turkification policy."

Habib explained that Turkey is following a project within the Syrian territory of Turkey, and said: "Turkey's presence in Syria is not as it is promoted through the Astana meetings, but it is its presence under the agreement with Russia." He noted that Turkey's ambitions go beyond the northern strip of Syria, and aim to revive what it was mentioned in the Misak-ı Millî and the control of Aleppo, Mosul and Kirkuk. And he made it clear that the Syrian people are the only victims of Russian complicity with Turkey.
