Virtual Media Council launches hashtag campaign to demand recognition of genocide in Shengal

Today, at 20:00 North-East Syria Time, the "Virtual Media Council in Kurdistan" launched a hashtag calling on the institutions of the international community and all humanitarian organizations to officially recognize the genocide committed against the Yazidis who are considered one of the oldest peoples in the world. This coincides with the anniversary of the Shengal massacre.

The Virtual Media Council had issued a statement regarding the genocide committed against Yazidis on August 3, 2014.

The council said that the Yazidis were subjected to 73 genocides, calling for recognition of the genocide against them, and for the perpetrators and those who were responsible for it to be brought to justice.

Announcing their launch of a hashtag campaign starting on 2- 8- 2021 within specific hours under the slogan "Recognize the genocide committed against Yazidis!, Recognize the Autonomous Administration of Shengal!" The hashtag came as #RecognizeYazidiGenocide

The Virtual Media Council in Kurdistan called on everyone to share the hashtag to convey the voice of Shengal people to the public opinion and to achieve justice for the victims of the massacre.
