TEV-DEM calls on to admit Shankal massacre

On Monday, TEV-DEM issued on statement on the 7^th anniversary of the Shankal massacre, the TEV DEM noted that the attack on Shankal was an attack aimed at eradicating the Kurds.

TEV-DEM statements noted despite passing 7 years after committing the massacre against Yazidi community by ISIS on 3^rd August 2014, it was black day in human history, which is considered the greatest crime in 21^st century, in the age of globalization, advanced technology, the purpose of this crime is to eradicate the Yazidi community.

The movement’s statement explicitly referred to the involvement of many forces in the Shankal massacre, “This massacre came through an organized and comprehensive scheme and with the support of some local, regional and international parties, preferring their immoral political, chauvinistic and economic interests over hundreds of thousands of authentic people to destroy their authentic historical culture in front of the eyes of the international community, foremost of which is the international community, United nations.

The statement recalled Turkish support for ISIS mercenaries, "with direct support from the fascist Turkish occupation state, they carried out what they wanted of massacres, and killings against thousands of members of the Yazidi religion, enslaving thousands of women and kidnapping young people and children to unknown destinations, and to this day their fate is unknown. In the face of the silence of the Baghdad governments and the leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the KDP, and without expressing any responsible position or any statement condemning the massacre.

The statement considered the agreement signed between the governments of Baghdad and Hewlêr against the Shankal administration on the 9^th of October last year to complete the massacre, "on the contrary, they entered into understandings and agreements against the Yazidi community to complete the destruction of what escaped from terrorism. Instead of providing aid and assistance and working to liberate the Yazidis and return the displaced to Shankal to restore life and reconstruction and to apologize to the Yazidi community, but they are still insisting on their dirty policy and are determined to obstruct efforts aimed at peaceful dialogue between Baghdad and the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Shankal.

The movement’s statement stressed the need to hold those involved in the Shankal massacre accountable, “seven years have passed since this humanitarian catastrophe, and the suffering of the Yazidi people is deepening, and the groans and cries of the Yazidis are still continuing as a result of the siege imposed on Shankal and the Turkish UVAs and its continuous bombing from time to time, and the most dangerous of that is the silence of the international community and not providing any assistance to liberate women and children and hold criminals, murderers, planners and perpetrators accountable, they are still having fun, all of them live in Turkey and other countries.

people in particular, all Kurdistan national and political forces and civil society organizations everywhere, to use their potential and to be fit in positions with the will of the Yazidi community in Shankal in order to formally recognize the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Shankal and within the Iraqi Constitution."
