Avrin Hospital: Cemetery exhumed contained 73 bodies of Afrin martyrs

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries dug up a shrine for Afrin city martyrs, while Turkish agencies and mercenary websites claimed to have found a mass grave in the city. The practices and allegations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries sparked great popular outrage and resentment.

In the context, the workers in Afrin Hospital denounced the practices of the Turkish occupation, and confirmed that what was exhumed was one of the martyrs' cemeteries which included the remains of 73 martyrs who were martyred during the Turkish and its mercenaries' invasion of Afrin.

Dozens of doctors and nurses working in Avrin Hospital gathered in the hospital yard located in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton, where the statement issued by the hospital in this regard was read by Mostafa Marco.

The text of the statement included:

"On the premise that most of the current staff working in Avrin Hospital in al-Shahba is the same cadre who worked in Avrin Hospital in occupied Afrin, and is the same witness to the incidents and war that took place at that time and ultimately led to the occupation of Afrin.

In addition, most of the current Afrin displaced in al-Shahba also witnessed and are aware of the details of events during the period of aggression.

Based on all of the above, we want to explain to the public opinion the absurdity of lies and slanders launched by the Turkish occupation in the past two days with regard to the tombs that were exhumed and the bodies were extracted from one of the cemeteries adjacent to the Avrin Hospital.

Therefore, we make clear the following:

During the barbaric Turkish aggression on Afrin, many citizens martyred, and the Autonomous Administration in Afrin at that time was keen to carry out burials befitting those heroes and within the martyrs' shrines whose locations are known to all our people.

However, the intensification of the bombardment and the Turkish occupation forces and its mercenaries' approach to the other martyrs' cemeteries, especially the Martyr Avesta Cemetery obliged the Administration at the time to hastily construct that shrine in the city center near Avrin Hospital, which contains 73 martyrs' corpses, including civilians and children.

What the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries did to reopen the aforementioned shrine is an act that contradicts moral and human values ​​and at the same time is a dirty approach that the occupation does not hesitate to follow in the hope of tarnishing the image and reputation of the Autonomous Administration.
