Cemîl Bayik: Rojava Revolution both major and model  

Statement of  Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union, Cemîl Bayik, was made during his participation in a TV show on Stêrk TV.

Bayik recalled beginning of the martyrs of the July 14 resistance: "The July 14 resistance showed how standards of the revolutionary struggle should be. This matter was of great importance to the Kurdish people, Kurdistan Workers' Party, the PKK affiliates, the Kurdish nationalists and the revolutionaries. The Kurdistan revolution continued against this law. We gained the spirit of this resistance, this spirit is very important to the members of the PKK and to the Kurdish people. Today, the resistance is escalating in Zap, Avashin, Heftanin, Metina, Khakork and in many other fields thanks to the spirit of the July 14 Resistance.

Guerilla Fighters, who resist in legitimate defense areas, say they are fighting in a spirit of resistance of July 14th. because the resistance of 14 July was achieved under very difficult circumstances. Today, comrades in legitimate areas of defence are fighting under difficult circumstances, the situation may be somewhat different, but it is also similar in many aspects.

Just as resistance in the prisons won against the September 12th coup, Guerrilla Fighters today are establishing a historical resistance in the Zap, Metina and Avashin regions against all forms of siege, attacks and chemical weapons.

They are fighting not only for the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the PKK, but for all humanity. It is therefore an honourable resistance, and it is similar to the July 14th Resistance. On this occasion, we congratulate all Guerilla Fighters, who have historically resisted in Zap, Metina and Avashin against extermination attacks."

Bayik noted that the Turkish state is attacking the areas of Zap, Metina, Avashin and Heftanin using NATO weapons, as well as chemical ones. He also added: "The PDK nevertheless surrounded the areas of Guerilla. That's what Hulusi Akar asked, and comrade Murat Karayılan talked about it. The Turkish state failed to achieve any result despite deployment of thousands of troops, mercenaries and chemical weapons, so he(Hulusi Akar) asked the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the PDK, to participate in the war. "

He added: "There are some special forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the PDK, these are not part of the PDK. The Peshmerga do not take part in the fighting. These special forces surround the areas of the Guerilla Forces. This blockade runs in favor of the Turkish state. Otherwise, the Turkish army would have been harshly beaten and defeated. We will step up our struggle against the Turkish occupation. "Everyone must be confident that we will eliminate the power of the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party."

He also referred to the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) on attacks carried out by the Turkish army on legitimate defence zones, and said in this regard: "In a meeting with Mr. Masud Barzani he said that was still committed to his statements. If so, he must keep his promise. I mean, we're happy with this, and we want it to be adhered to. We've been appreciating this situation and we still are. Everyone should know that. We consider the statements and demands of the Kurdistan defence initiative, issued by artists and many circles, to be instructions to us. We have no intention of ever fighting against the KDP. As long as Kak Masud says he's still on his obligations, he must abide by it and apply it. That way all doubts can go away. We are ready to fulfil our responsibilities. We are confident that promises and pledges will be made and that efforts to deploy troops will be brought to an end. If that were done, all problems would be resolved through dialogue. "

Speaking on the ninth anniversary of the 19 July Revolution of Rojava, Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union, said: "first, I salute and congratulate all those who participated in this struggle from the beginning. Many have been martyred during the revolution, and therefore I recall them with all due respect and as many were injured during the revolution, I wish them all recovery. The Rojava Revolution is indeed an important and major revolution. This revolution was founded on the ideology and philosophy of leader Ocalan. On these grounds and principles, the people of Rojava achieved this revolution. Thanks to these principles, the revolution continues to exist.

During the various stages of the revolution, many attacks were carried out, all aimed at eliminating the revolution. But these attacks failed. If the revolution attains victory, thanks to Ocalan's approach. The people there were able to organize in the approach of leader Ocalan. Everyone participated in this revolution in their own identity and language, which contributed to the strengthening of solidarity and fraternity. This situation has set an example in Syria, in the Middle East and in the world as well. So many circles turned around this revolution. Opponents of hegemony, democrats, socialists, women and young people, everyone considers this revolution as beacon. "
