Martyrs' families: continued resistance inspired by  July 14th 

Marking the 39th anniversary of July 14th, 1982 Resistance at the Amed Prison in Northern Kurdistan, Martyrs' families in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo commemorated the strugglers resistance, stressing that peoples of North and East Syria are struggling against the occupation thanks to the spirit of July 14th Resistance.

Fidan Hussein, mother of Martyr Hamouda, said that the resistance of the first strugglers who fought against Turkish fascism in Turkish prisons on July 14th, 1982, became way to victory and freedom for all oppressed peoples.

strugglers Mohammed Khairy Durmuş, Kemal Pîr, Akif Yilmaz and Ali Çîçek, did not surrender to the Turkish state despite the most heinous kinds of torture until they reached their goals.

Fidan Hussein added, "They announced a hunger strike to death as a result of the brutal practices inside the prison and they resisted under the slogan (Resistance is Life) and to this day this resistance continues inside Turkish jails by political detainees."

As for mother of Martyr Khabat, Kadariya Haydar, she noted that '' peoples of the region and especially the Kurds today are fighting against the Turkish occupation army to protect their areas from attacks and occupation thanks to the spirit of strugglers, Khairy Durmuş, Kemal Pîr, Akif Yilmaz and Ali Çîçek.

In his turn, father of Martyr Hogir Çiya, Samir Mohammed, recalled the first resistance fighters Mohammed Khairy Durmuş, Kemal Pîr, Akif Yilmaz and Ali Çîçek and all the martyrs fell on the way to attain freedom.

Mohammad expressed his congratulations to the Kurdish people and leader Abdullah Ocalan on the anniversary of the July 14th resistance, "No matter what the Turkish state does to us, we will resist and we will not give up because we are fighting for our freedom and our identity, no one can stand up to our resistance."
