​​​​​​​Kurdish, Arab clans: we firmly back SDF, confront sedition

The Military Council of Al-Jazira region and the Military Council in the city of Hasaka organized a clan meeting for components of the region to stave off sedition and shortcomings in the region.

The meeting was attended by 150 clan political, social and cultural figures from all the people of the region, in addition to the spokesperson for the People’s Protection Units (YPG) Nuri Mahmoud, and the advisor of the Autonomous Administration in Hasaka canton Zainab Shetka.

The meeting began with a minute of silence, followed by the YPG's spokesperson, Nuri Mahmoud, who said at the beginning,: "We have sacrificed  more than 11,000 martyrs and 22,000 wounded, except for the economic and social damage in order to reach coexistence, brotherhood of peoples and freedom." 

Mahmoud added: "From the beginning of the revolution, many groups and parties claimed to demand freedom and democracy for the region, but all of these parties took advantage of the revolution and the capabilities of society."

He noted that all the parties that claimed their support for the revolution have left no trace, and only mercenary groups remain serving Turkish and Iranian interests.

 After that, the door for dialogue and discussion was opened to the participants, who demanded an investigation into the cases of prisoners, a review of the files of all prisoners, transparency, services and the improvement of the economic situation.

 For her part, the Adviser to the Autonomous Administration in the province of Hasaka, Zainab Shetka, spoke, and said at the beginning of her speech: "The aim of this meeting is to listen to the right opinions and demands of the people and attendees, as they represent the concerns and troubles of the entire people, and we are aware of the people's lack of services."

 Shetka added: "We will communicate all the demands to the competent authorities, and try to address them, and we have projects to solve these problems despite our suffering from the lack of modern technologies that we need in this difficult stage due to the siege  on the north and east of Syria, and everyone knows its implications.”

She noted, "The aim of the siege is to thwart the Autonomous Administration project, and it requires all components of the region to resist these plans to create stability in our homeland."

She stressed that all opinions at the meeting "will be listened seriously and respectfully and we will try to address them.

 In the end, the conferees issued a final statement, which was read by a member of the Council of Notables of North and East Syria, Fawaz Al-Zoba.

 The text of the statement stated:

 We, the sheikhs and dignitaries of the clans and representatives of the components in the city of Al-Hasakah and its countryside in light of the acceleration of political and security events and the current economic situation, from closing all humanitarian crossings, cutting off water outlets to the Euphrates River and Al-Khabur River, cutting drinking water from Alouk station, and the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries continuing to occupy Syrian lands and regions, especially Afrin, Ras al-Ain  , Tal Abyad, Azaz, Al-Bab and other Syrian regions, displacing its original people and bringing about a demographic change.

 We declare our firm position on the side of the Syrian Democratic Forces to confront all the sedition projects carried out by the Syrian regime, the Turkish occupation, its mercenaries, and the Iranian militias.

 Serious work to unite all the peoples of the region towards a new constitution for the future Syria that guarantees the unity of Syria's land and people and guarantees the rights of all the Syrian people.

 Finally, the statement appealed to clan elders, representatives of components, institutions and organizations of the international community and the Security Council to stand firmly and firmly against all these violations against our people and people in north and east Syria.
