The General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a statement condemning the crime of today's attack by an extremist element of the Turkish fascism on a HDP building in Izmir and killing a party member.

“While the Turkish occupation state launches its systematic political and military attacks on the Kurdish people and sets plans and conspiracies to bring about Kurdish-Kurdish fighting, and to reformulate its Ottoman conspiratorial role on the future of the Kurdish people and the peoples of the Middle East in general, one of the extremists of the Turkish state launched a blatant attack this morning  on HDP building in Izmir, burning and assaulting party members, which resulted in the loss of one of the members' life, "Deniz Poyraz", in full view and hearing of the security authorities and without any deterrent or accountability for the aggressors, despite the party's warning several times to the security authorities about receiving continuously threats to its offices, and this indicates the involvement of the Turkish state, its security services and AKP extremists in these attacks.

Such attacks, which express the hidden hatred of Turkish fascism against democratic institutions, especially the HDP, which struggles for the democratization of societies in Turkey and defends the peoples, and most of its leaders and deputies are in the prisons of Turkish fascism for their defense of human rights, freedom and democracy.

We in the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) while condemning in the strongest terms such attacks, demand the international community to pressure the Turkish state to stop and limit the use of these systematic repressive methods against the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region. We also offer our condolences to the family and comrades of Deniz Poyraz, who struggled and paid with her life for the for peace and democracy.
