The Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Qais Khazali, spoke about the Turkish occupation attacks and their goals, in a televised speech on the Iraqi Al-Ahed Channel, on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the PMF.

In his speech, Al-Khazali asserted that " Turkish occupation attacks, not like before, but rather aim at a permanent occupation of the northern regions of Iraq (Southern Kurdistan), and the annexation of these areas to the borders of the Turkish state in a project that the Ottoman Sultan dreamed of."

Al-Khazali referred to Turkish attacks such as the Turkish incursion into Iraqi territory, logging and stealing of trees into Turkey, as well as the bombing of the displaced persons camp: "We have warned on more than one occasion of the Ottoman Sultan's intention to invade Iraqi territory as part of the project to deduct northern Iraq and annex it to the dream of the new Ottoman Empire."

Al-Khazali stressed that the Iraqi Government's failure to defend Iraqi sovereignty and that Iraq's skies were not protected from any external aggression. He said: "We have stressed the need for the Iraqi Government to complete Iraq's air defence system in order to defend Iraq's skies and sovereignty against various air attacks. Unfortunately, the Government has neither moved nor done anything."
