Aldar Khalil: We have no solution but to resist, unite or to be annihilated, enslaved

In an interview with our agency, Khalil evaluated the recent political developments, especially the Turkish attacks on Başûr, the positions of the Kurdish forces, the KDP’s complicity with the Turkish occupation, the arrest of representatives of the Democratic Union Party, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria at Hewlêr Airport, and the international support for Turkey to exterminate the Kurds and stifle any attempt to emerge a legitimate project. democracy in Kurdistan and the Middle East.

Khalil saluted the "resistance of Guerilla. There is a fact that cannot be hidden, which is that the victory will produce positive results in the four parts of Kurdistan. It is a resistance for the sake of all the Kurds and not for a party only. Our mission in all parts of Kurdistan.

Turkey, with the support of international powers, took the decision to exterminate the Kurds

Khalil pointed out that "these attacks are annihilation attacks. The enemy, especially the Turkish state, with the support and partnership of some international powers, made the decision to annihilate us. In the last century, after the establishment of regimes and states, we are facing a stage in which the maps drawn up in 1916 and 1923 will change. The peoples of the region have suffered a lot, so the Turkish state is preparing for the new phase after the centenary of Lausanne, and the peoples of the region are also living their spring.”

The Kurdish struggle is close to victory

Khalil continued, "The struggle of the Kurdish people has reached an advanced stage; it is on the verge of victory. The Turkish occupation is heading towards defeat, and with the imbalance of the Turkish state and its allies that seek to protect their existence. They see that the greatest danger to them, the project of the Kurdish movement and liberation based on the nation’s democratic philosophy to create a new society on the foundations of freedom and the leadership of women’s liberation struggle.”

Khalil pointed out that the attacks target the democratic project in Kurdistan, "they see that the success of the Kurdistan project will bring down their regimes and achieve the freedom of peoples." The attack on Kobane in 2014, In 2018, on Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, and the current attacks are all attempts to destroy the peoples’ hopes for freedom. When they did not achieve the desired result, they tried in Şingal and understood that there is a great struggle in northern Kurdistan that affects the rest of the parts. At first, they took over the municipalities of Northern Kurdistan, arrested political party officials and gradually targeted social, cultural and organizational activities. They did not leave any space for struggle.  In Başûr, they tried for years to undermine the Kurdish even if it was based on the democratic project.  The most prominent example of this was a referendum in 2017, they found a danger and attacked it, forcing the administration of Başûr to back down.

'In Rojava, we know that if guerrilla is defeated or Turkey is not defeated, Rojava and its gains will disappear.'

A member of the Joint Presidency of the PYD stressed that Rojava will not stand silent about the attacks on Guerilla and Başûr. We in Rojava know that if guerrilla is defeated or Turkey is not defeated, our gains will disappear. We cannot stand idly by and say that Rojava has nothing to do with that. If Turkey succeeds in one place, it will strike at other places."

One fate

Khalil called for providing effective support to the guerrilla resistance, "In order to defeat the Turkish state through practical stances. I hope that activities of this kind will continue because guerrillas are under brutal attack. They are fighting for existence."

Khalil warned, "If Turkey occupies those mountains, it will strangle Rojava and open a line for it. It will not need permission from Hewlêr to reach Baghdad without fees it pays to Başûr," calling "the administration of Başûr to to unite its ranks."

Khalil highlighted the danger that Turkey poses to the world. "Public opinion should know that the Turkish state is a danger to everyone, not just to Guerilla and the PKK. The events that took place in Al-Jazira, Kobane and Al-Shahba are important. and I salute them. The remarkable thing about these events is that everyone joined them. We saw the flags of all parties in Rojava, Syria, Başûr, Bakûr, and even cultural and artistic institutions. There were various components of Arabs, Kurds and Syriacs, and the activities must continue.

The events that took place had echoed worldwide. They were affected by them.”

Regarding the March of the Dignity against the occupation and treason, Khalil added, “These events have a message, which is when the enemy attacks a Kurdish force, we must not help the enemy.” He continued, “It is shameful to see a Kurdish party supporting the occupation.

The KDP must not support the enemy''I salute the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the Socialist Party and the Goran Movement. We learned of their positions, although they were not at the desired level, at least they had a position."

As for the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Khalil said, "It was not neutral. We asked the party to take a position opposing the occupation. The party's support for the occupation means that it is against unity: unity means taking a unified position and supporting your Kurdish siblings, on the one hand, you say that you want unity; while on the other hand you support the enemy, that's a contradiction."

Politics does not mean pleasing enemies

Khalil recalled the patriotic positions of the People’s Defense Forces, "When ISIS attacked Shengal in 2014, attacked Mosul, reached Makhmour and headed to Hewler, at that time, People’s Defense Forces descended from the mountains and protected Hewler, Shengal and Makhmour. This is the national unity."

He addressed the Kurdistan Democratic Party, "You say that you are Kurds and a Kurdish party and have been fighting for the Kurds for decades. Leave the People’s Defense Forces and the PKK aside. The Turkish state occupies your land, there are 30 Turkish military bases, Do not they pose a threat to you? Politics does not mean pleasing enemies and the national position requires not to please your enemies, you have to strive to please your people and your history.”

Khalil recalled "the fate of the Kurds is linked to each other. Any defeat in Başûr, Bakur, or Rojhilat will harm Rojava, and any victory in those parts will benefit Rojava, and the Rojava revolution cannot be guaranteed if Turkey occupies another part of Kurdistan."

Dirty schemes against the Kurds

Khalil pointed to the schemes targeting the Kurds, "There is a demographic change in Afrin, they bring in people from different regions, recently they bring in the Palestinians to create fighting between us and them, there is a tight siege on Rojava by the Syrian regime, going to Simalka is difficult. There is a dirty scheme. Our people must know that our destiny, existence or extinction are linked to this stage. The coming period is a sensitive period. If we work well, we will have historic chances of success, but if we err and do not fulfill what is required of us, the enemy will win."

Arrest of representatives of Democratic Union Party, Autonomous Administration is declaration of war

Khalil considered, "The arrest of the representatives of the Democratic Union Party and the Autonomous Administration is a continuation of the Turkish attack, which is a declaration of war and a decision against Rojava. If you want to besiege us, we will continue our resistance, but history will write that. Although they did not violate any law, they could have been deported from the airport, but why are they arrested? We do not know anything about the reason behind their arrest. Are they alive and in whose hands are they? They must be released immediately.

What will the International Coalition weapons do in Matina?

Khalil called on the KDP forces to immediately withdraw from the areas in which they were recently stationed in the Defense Zones. “Everyone supported the war on ISIS. Many countries trained the Peshmerga and provided them with weapons to fight ISIS, and they told them that these weapons and vehicles are to fight ISIS, but we saw them in Matina. Does the KDP want to say that the People’s Defense Forces that defend the honor of Kurdistan are like ISIS? This means that you tell the people that the guerrillas are like ISIS.”

"The KDP forces should withdraw immediately from the places where they are stationed and act sensitively," he added.

Khalil criticized, "Some parties call on both sides to avoid war because the two sides are not in the same position. One party is in its place while another supports the enemy. We have to invite the party that is wrong."

Khalil warned Erdogan's collaborators, "Erdogan will not stay forever. He will stay for two years at the latest. Erdogan's departure will mean the collapse of the Turkish regime and Turkey will be destroyed because he created a centralized system in Turkey. Do not place your hopes on Erdogan."

"We say from a brotherly standpoint to the KDP, do not continue the wrong policies because you diminish your respect and tarnish your reputation. You have to take a position against the enemy and stand by the resistance," but he warned at the same time that If the Kurdistan Democratic Party continues on the same path, it will face great contradictions and deeper division."

'We must not fall into interim policies trap; we must think strategically'

Khalil expected important changes in the near term, "The next two years will be a historic opportunity for the Kurds. Note the NATO countries and the Big Seven are in dialogue to reconsider the map and policies of this region. We Kurds have waged a struggle and developed in diplomacy and politics, and on the ground we have accomplished important steps. We must neither make mistakes nor fall into the trap of interim policies, we have to think strategically, we have to unite our ranks and have a national position, and this will create great achievements in Bakur, Başûr and Rojava.”

People’s Defense Forces are facing NATO, not only Turkey

Khalil pointed out "the resistance of the Guerilla is not only in confronting Erdogan's army, but mainly in confronting NATO. NATO provides absolute support to Erdogan, without which Erdogan would not have occupied Afrin, Girê Spi, Serekaniye, Idlib, Libya and Azerbaijan, and he would not have been able to occupy areas in Başûr and established bases, saying "I protect the borders of NATO.” The leader Apo is being isolated. Turkey cannot impose isolation without an international decision. I think that NATO employed Erdogan to obstruct every democratic project and liberate the Kurds and keep them enslaved," and stressed, "however, our people will resist until they win. We have no solution but resistance and unity, otherwise we will face annihilation and slavery."
