This morning, the work of the first conference of the Women's Council in North and East Syria began under the slogan "Women's Revolution Ensures a Free Democratic Society" with the participation of 200 members.

Member of the Coordination Committee of the Women's Council in North and East Syria, Asia Abdullah, gave a speech in which she explained that the economic and health crisis that the world is going through is an organizational policy by the capitalist countries, and said, "We must raise the pace of struggle against these schemes being hatched against the peoples of north and east Syria."

She added, "Women in north and east Syria show a struggle full of resistance and victory. Therefore, the Women's Council in North and East Syria has a great task which is the protection of the gains that have been achieved in the region, and developing a solution to the political crisis in Syria, and women must have an effective role to play in the Syrian constitution."

Asia affirmed, "We must advocate all women's political organizations in Syria, and be a part of the Syrian constitution, and we must show the policies that women are subjected to in the occupied areas; killing, kidnapping and rape at the hands of Turkey and its mercenaries."

On behalf of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar congratulated all women on holding the first conference of the Women’s Council in North and East Syria, and said, "This conference took place in a very difficult period that the areas of north and east Syria are going through, and this is of great importance because women, in the Autonomous Administration and north-east Syria, defied all obstacles with their struggle and resistance."

She continued, "The international community must find a solution to the Syrian crisis, in particular the violence and policies that women are exposed to in the occupied territories."

Amina confirmed, "We in the Syrian Democratic Council stress the need to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and women must have a major role in resolving this crisis."

She added, "The practices committed by Turkey and its mercenaries in the occupied territories aim to exterminate the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region."

For her turn, Jihan Khedro stressed in the name of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria the unification of women's ranks in north and east Syria, and this came as a result of women's deep faith in their abilities to participate in decision-making.

She added, "Some parties with agendas have tried to thwart the democratic project in north and east Syria, but our ongoing struggle for the principle of the democratic nation is a clear and explicit response to everyone who tries to ignite sedition and eliminate the gains made thanks to the martyrs' blood."

Jihan confirmed that the struggle of women in north and east Syria will continue to establish a platform in which Syrian women would participate to lead a new Syria by focusing on women's development to ensure their freedom."

In turn, Sewsen Ferhad said on behalf of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) that the Women’s Protection Units played an important role in ensuring the security and safety of north and east Syria, and proved by their presence on the fighting fronts that they achieved victory, adding: "We all have to prove our presence in all civil and military institutions and assure the world that women are able to guarantee the freedom of society."

After the speeches finished, the Martyrs' Families Council Foundation and the War Wounded Foundation were honored by the Women's Council in North and East Syria with an honorary shield.
