Gang trafficking underage girls in Başûr Kurdistan arrested

Today, the Baghdad Counter Crime Directorate announced the arrest of a human trafficking gang that "sells underage girls" in Başûr Kurdistan.

The Baghdad Counter Crime Directorate stated in a press statement, "The Human Trafficking Department on Karkh side arrested three suspects for human trafficking and selling counterfeit currency."

It added that "the arrest took place after information was received about the existence of a gang that sells underage girls in the Kurdistan Region."

The Directorate indicated that "the gang was involved in selling counterfeit (50) dollars and promoting them in local markets as well."

It added, "A tight ambush led to the arrest of the accused in flagrante delicto and the seizure of a counterfeit sum of money amounting to (100,000) dollars in their possession. Their initial and judicial confession was written down, and the investigative judge decided to detain them in accordance with the provisions of Article (52) of the Central Bank of Iraq Law, to be justly punished.
