Hesso: Anti-occupation" conference brings about important decisions

Akram Hasso confirmed that the "anti-occupation" conference, in which 260 people participated from the four parts of Kurdistan and Europe, came out with important decisions, on top of which, all resist the Turkish occupation at all levels.

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) organized an online conference "Anti-occupation", on May 15, to unify the positions against the Turkish occupation's attacks on Kurdistan. More than 260 national, political, social and academic figures from the four parts of Kurdistan, Europe and the world participated in it.

During the conference, the attendees stressed the need to unify the Kurdish ranks against the Turkish attacks that target the presence of the Kurdish people in Kurdistan, and the need to support the Peoples' Protection Forces (HPG) in the legitimate defense zones (Medya), which have been under Turkey's attack since April 23.

The majority of Kurdish parties and national figures in northern and eastern Syria participated in the conference activities, including the National Unity and Democratic Society Movement.

A member of the Executive Committee of the KNK, Akram Hasso, stated to ANHA agency the aim of holding the conference and the most prominent discussions, and said: "Since the establishment of the KNK in 1999, it supports all Kurdish forces in Kurdistan and the efforts of uniting the Kurdish ranks.

He explained: "Recently, the Turkish occupation army began to launch attacks on the regions of Başû Kurdistan and described the Turkish attacks as "dangerous".

Mobilizing against Turkish attacks

He touched on the KNK's initiative to hold the conference, and said: "The main goal is to mobilize the Kurdish opinion and the world against the Turkish attacks on the Medya in Başûr Kurdistan, and to pressure the international community to clarify its position on the attacks."

He indicated that the other goal is to emphasize the need to support the resistance of the HPG in the legitimate defense zones. He said: "More than 260 national, political, social and academic figures from all parts of Kurdistan joined the conference, and the participants emphasized the necessity to support the resistance of the HPG. "

He pointed out that the conference participants confirmed that the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation army now against the Medya are not against a specific party or movement, but rather the Kurdish people.

He touched on some of the decisions including stressing the need to escalate the resistance against the Turkish occupation in the four parts of Kurdistan and the world.

He indicated that one of the decisions was the need to pressure the international community to deter Turkey's attacks against the Kurds. He said: "The attendees also stressed the need to pressure the forces allied with the international coalition, such as the Syrian Democratic Forces, to deter Turkish attacks."

He explained that the attacks, threaten the security of the Iraqi and Syrian state, and the regions of northeast Syria, so the responsibility for deterring Turkish attacks is not only on the shoulders of the HPG, but on the Iraqi forces and the forces present in northern and eastern Syria as well.

Hasso stressed that the participants called on the Kurdish people and forces to unify the ranks, and indicated that this stage is a fateful stage, where the entire existence of the Kurdish people is targeted, and the Turkish attacks do not target any particular forces, party or movement, but rather the Kurdish presence.

Hasso noted that the decisions and recommendations reached by the meeting will be shared with Kurdish and Kurdish public opinion and the world in the coming days.
