SDF launches a large-scale military and security operation in Wadi Al-Ajij in Deir Ezzor

The Media Center of the SDF issued a statement in this regard, saying:

"Our forces and the Global Coalition forces to fight ISIS began this morning a large-scale military and security operation in the Wadi Al-Ajij area in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor for pursuing the sleeper and active cells of the terrorist organization ISIS and uncovering weapons caches and dens used by members and leaders of terrorist cells in the border areas with the Republic of Iraq. The operation also aims to control the smuggling of weapons and terrorist elements.

The operation, which will last for four days, began in the early hours of the morning, with several missile strikes carried out by the Coalition forces timed with the launch of flares and the intense flight of reconnaissance aircraft.

This operation comes within the ongoing joint efforts between our forces and the Coalition forces in northern and eastern Syria for preventing ISIS and other terrorist organizations from causing chaos and threatening peace and security in the region and preventing terrorist cells from carrying out their sabotage activities.
