​​​​​​​HPG: 147 Turkish Occupation Army personnel killed in 10 days - Updated

The Media Center of the (HPG) issued a statement revealing the outcome of the losses among the Turkish occupation army during the battles in the legitimate defense zones from April 32 to May 3.

According to the losses inflicted on the Turkish occupation army, the guerrilla fighters carried out 116 operations, during which 147 Turkish soldiers were killed, 6 helicopters and two reconnaissance aircraft were destroyed, dozens of trenches were destroyed, and 6 of our fighters were martyred.

The text of the statement read:

The Turkish occupation state, its leaders, and the fascist center of the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party, Erdogan, do not abandon their goal of occupying Kurdistan and the Middle East, rather seeks to consolidate its hegemony. Consequently, the Kurdish people were fully satisfied and the genocide completed with their right.

The Turkish occupation state has intensified its genocidal plans against our people even more and to occupy the Southern Kurdistan region, it began a large-scale military campaign in each of the regions of Matina and Avashin and Zab of the legitimate defense zones on April 23, with the aim of occupying them. However, the guerrilla fighters and fighters of the Peoples' Defense Forces and Free Women’s Star units thwarted these attacks and not only did our fighters remain on the defensive, but they also actively launched attacks, and took revolutionary steps within the framework of the Operation “It is Time for Freedom", under the slogan “Resistance of Khabour" and the "Zagros Falcons".

Thus, our fighters responded to the attacks that started from April 23 until May 3, with high combat performance, great courage, determination to resist, high guerrilla spirit, and rich and professional tactics, which toppled the occupying enemy, and established an interesting historical model to show the level of contemporary our fighters for democratic modernity.

The Turkish occupation state attacked in every possible way, from specially trained soldiers, to the use of trained dogs, from the heaviest bombing, to the indiscriminate use of toxic and chemical gases, but to no avail. Where the Turkish occupation army used chemical weapons and committed war crimes in front of the eyes of the world. Those who remain silent in the face of these crimes, will be made history as accomplices in this crime.

The guerrillas of Kurdistan freedom during these ten days of war, showed superior skill based on tactics, theses and the modern line, from group-by-group warfare, to tunnel warfare, and from air defense activities; to self-defense, and even incursion within the ranks of the enemy, qualitative operations, sniping and bombardment with heavy weapons, and from thermal weapons to simultaneous and coordinated high-speed gripping operations and painful blows to the Turkish occupation.

The Turkish army, proud of its strength and ability to fight, and which was able to overcome the countries, has been crippled in its capabilities in Matina, Avashin and Zab, and was unable to advance, and despite its losses, it is recovering dozens of its dead and wounded every night by helicopters. Meanwhile, soldiers who are unable to fight can no longer change their positions moment by moment, and are replaced by new forces, and the accuracy and results of the modern-day guerrillas' resistance, which has reached the highest level in the resistance of Heftanin and Gara have been reaffirmed in a campaign. The revolutionary "Zagros Falcons" and the "Resistance of Khabour" campaign.

During the battles that lasted ten days, our comrades Akin, Asia, Ciyaker, Delshir, Dalal and Viyan against the enemy, and set out heroic epics, and led several operations, which led to painful strikes on the occupying enemy, this operation and the battles in which guerrilla took part, the Free Women Units - Star (YJA Star) in particular, they demonstrated the strong will of the free Kurdish women, their commitment to freedom and determination to ensure victory. This resistance that our forces demonstrated with great effort and sacrifices, and with the guerrilla spirit that the leader Abdullah Ocalan established, will not prevent the occupation not only in Southern Kurdistan, the resistance will escalate everywhere, and great results will be achieved in the path of a free leader and a free Kurdistan.

On the basis of the people's revolutionary war, Kurdish women and youth everywhere must solidify this heroic resistance to the guerrillas, and spread the apocalyptic guerrilla spirit through which they inflict painful blows on the enemy in the mountains of Kurdistan, in every village, street and operation " It's time for freedom and victory".

Sometimes the information about the battles reached us late, because our fighters were fighting in a semi-independent manner. But all the martyrdoms, operations carried out by the guerrilla fighters and the battles are fully documented according to the capabilities, and they have been shared with our people and public opinion so far, and from now on they will be shared with the same sensitivity.

The outcome of the battles of ten days

The outcome of the battles that began between April 23 and May 3 in the legitimate defense zones is as follows:

Our forces' operations:

 8 operations by Martyr Dalal's Air Defense Forces.

- Operation with a thermal weapon.

- Two operations by guerrilla fighters in a coordinated and simultaneous manner.

- Two operations in which our fighters entered enemy trenches.

- 9 offensive operations.

- 11 operations using heavy weapons (DHsk, Mortar and Katyusha rockets)

- 12 sniper attacks.

- 33 specific operations.

- 37 offensive operations

And unanimously, our fighters carried out 116 operations, and 6 of our comrades were martyred.

Attacks of the Turkish occupation army:

The legitimate defense areas were bombed daily, hundreds of times, with cannons, helicopters and aircraft.

The enemy wanted to enter the battle tunnels 34 times, and our forces were attacking them every time, and it did not achieve any result.

Result of our forces' response:

Two drones were targeted.
