Kedo describes attack on Medya as new ISIS expansion led by Turkey to eradicate Kurds

Saleh Kedo asserted that Turkey seeks to occupy all of Southern Kurdistan (Başûr), destroy Kurdish villages and displace their inhabitants under the pretext of fighting the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), describing the recent attack on the legitimate defense zones as a new ISIS expansion.

Since April 23^rd, the Turkish occupation army has launched an attack on the legitimate defense zones.

The Secretary of the Democratic Left Party in Syria, Saleh Kedo, indicated in a statement to our agency that the recent Turkish attacks on legitimate defense zones are a continuation of the episode of attacks launched by the occupation state on the Kurds' gains in Kurdistan, in addition to being a means of putting pressure on the Kurdistan Region and controlling Başûr Kurdistan.

Kedo stated that the other goal of the ongoing Turkish attacks is to obstruct the Kurdish-Kurdish talks in Rojava. He said: "The Turkish attacks on Kurdistan have not stopped, as most areas of Rojava such as Manbij, Tel Tamr and Ain Issa have been witnessing attacks for more than 6 months until the moment."

'Gara's resistance shook Turkey'

Kedo explained that the recent Turkish attacks came after the blow that the Turkish army received in the Gara area, which he described as an "earthquake" that shook the Justice and Development Party's (AKP) entity, and said: "After the great attack launched by the Turkish occupation army on Gara and being defeated by the fighters of the People's Defense Forces, an earthquake occurred in Turkey, and the Turkish state witnessed a major crisis, especially the Justice and Development Party and Erdogan."

On February 10^th, the Turkish occupation army launched an attack on Gara area in the legitimate defense zones, which lasted for 4 days, during which the Turkish army received a great defeat, as a result of the heroic resistance shown by the fighters of the People's Defense Forces.

The Turkish attack was met with sharp criticism at home after it caused the death of 13 Turkish military prisoners by the Turkish army's fire.

Earlier, the Commander of the People's Defense Center, Murad Qereyilan, revealed that Turkey has been joining Syrian mercenaries in its attacks on the legitimate defense zones.

Kedo commented on this by saying: "The Turkish occupation state is using Syrian mercenaries in its attacks on the Zap and Metina areas, and it has also used them in Libya and Azerbaijan."

Kedo explained that the Syrian mercenaries used by the Turkish army in its attacks on the areas of Başûr Kurdistan are ISIS mercenaries, but in a new way, and he explained: "Turkey is using the mercenaries who have been defeated in the areas of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor recently, those mercenaries who terrified the whole world, and I challenge the whole world to eliminate them."

'The new ISIS expansion led by Turkey'

Saleh Kedo called on the international community to bear its responsibilities and stand before the new ISIS expansion that now bears a new name with Turkish support, and put an end to it. He said: "If the international community believes that ISIS is a threat to the world, then it must see that a large country and a member of NATO supports these mercenaries, and the danger of those is growing slowly."

'The Kurdish people in Başûr and a large part of the Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq are against Turkish attacks'

The secretary of the Democratic Left Party in Syria agrees with the views of Kurdish politicians and researchers: "Turkey is trying to empty Kurdistan of the Kurds."

Saleh Kedo stressed that the Turkish attacks will not achieve any result, noting that the Kurdish people in Başûr and a large part of the Iraqi people, both Sunnis and Shiites, are against the arbitrary Turkish attacks.

Regarding the silence of the Kurdish forces in Başûr Kurdistan, Saleh Kedo explained: "We appreciate the conditions that Başûr Kurdistan is going through, but this does not mean that a fascist state such as Turkey launches attacks on Kurdistan and destroys everything, and that the Kurdish forces remain silent."

The Secretary of the Democratic Left Party in Syria, Saleh Kedo, refuted the Turkish allegations about launching the attacks on the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the People's Defense Forces, and he said: "Turkey uses the name of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) as a title for the attack on Başûr Kurdistan, but on the ground Başûr Kurdistan is being occupied, and the Kurdish villages are being destroyed, in addition to the displacement of the Kurds from their lands, so the governments of the Kurdistan Region and the central government must stand up to these arbitrary attacks."
