Ain Issa - Zana Sidi

The Turkish occupation seeks to annex the areas it occupied north of the M4 international road in Ain Issa from the south of the road, amid the Turkish vehicles continuing to connect 5 military bases with a length of 15 km along the international road to each other.

Since November last year, the Turkish occupation has built 5 military bases on the outskirts of Ain Issa town, opposite to the villages of "Khaldiya, Al-Maalik, Hoshan, Al-Mushrifa, and Seyda" on the M4 international road leading to Kobani canton, while the brutal shelling of the Turkish occupation and its mercenary groups led to the displacement of the residents of these villages.

In a previous interview with our agency, the co-chair of Girê Spi / Tal Abyad canton, Hamid al-Abd, indicated that the process of building the artificial borders deep in the Syrian territories aims to expand and legitimize the occupation of these areas, in light of the international community, especially the United States of America and the Russian guarantor, overlooking the crimes and the violations committed by Turkey in Syria.

The Syrian government did not comment on the Turkish occupation’s endeavor to annex the occupied areas north of the international road from the rest of the Syrian territories, while the Russian Reconciliation Center expressed its concern about the Turkish moves and the building of fortifications in the vicinity of Ain Issa on the 16th of last March.

The vicinity of the military bases and points shared between the Russian soldiers and the forces of the Damascus government on the M4 international road during the past months have been under Turkish occupation’s artillery and missile strikes from its bases deep in the occupied Syrian territories, while the Russian and Syrian government forces did not respond to the sources of fire.
