The mercenaries of the so-called National Defense turned the two schools into two centers from which attacks on the Internal Security Forces and civilians began.

Schools are among the civilian facilities that cannot be converted into headquarters and used for military purposes, in accordance with international laws.

According to members of the Internal Security Forces, the mercenaries targeted them, along with civilians from the headquarters, after snipers deployed them on rooftops.

After the Internal Security Forces advanced in Al-Tay neighborhood following the strong clashes that erupted as a result of the "National Defense" mercenaries' attack on a force checkpoint in Al-Wahda roundabout in Qamishlo city, the Internal Security Forces expelled the mercenaries from the Fadel Abdul Aziz Hassan school in the eastern side of the neighborhood.

The Fadel Abdul Aziz Hasan Primary School, which was established in 1975, was a military headquarters for mercenaries even before the attacks.

Since last Tuesday night, the city of Qamishlo has witnessed violent clashes between the internal security forces and the mercenaries of the "National Defense" after the latter targeted a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces in Al-Wahda roundabout south of Qamishlo city, which led to the death of a member of the security forces.

After four days of clashes between the two sides and the intervention of Russian police and leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces as mediators to stop the ongoing clashes in Qamishlo; a meeting was held between the two parties, they reached yesterday evening a decision to cease fire between the Internal Security Forces and the mercenaries of the so-called "National Defense" of the Damascus government .

Several hours after the Internal Security Forces declared a ceasefire in compliance with the agreement, the "National Defense" mercenaries of the Damascus government targeted the security forces' points at the Halko neighborhood junction on the southern belt of Qamishlo city with medium weapons and RBGs, while the security forces did not respond to sources of fire.
