Al-Menfi confirms all militias leaving his country

The new president of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, confirmed during his visit to Greece on Wednesday that "all possible efforts" will be made for "all foreign militias" to leave his country.

Al-Menfi said during his meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, "We will make all possible efforts to guarantee the sovereignty and independence of (Libya) linked to the final exit of all militias from my country."

The President of the Presidential Council confirmed that discussions were held on the subject "to achieve the goal of the militias' departure," according to a statement in Greek by Mitsotakis' office.

The Greek Prime Minister promised to provide support for the reconstruction of Libya, stressing that the "necessary condition" for a political solution in the country is "the departure of all (foreign) forces from the Libyan lands," in light of the elections scheduled for the end of the year.
