Pederson warns of a huge explosion ahead in Syria

"To the extent of the Syrian people's suffering, including injustice, poverty, death and violations," Pederson stated, stressing that "the world has failed to help the Syrians."

In a speech before the Security Council through the "video conference" technology, he said that the progress of the Syrian solution requires concessions from the key players, internally and externally, warning of a huge explosion coming if a solution and a complete ceasefire are not reached.

He also indicated that the Syrians have seen, 5 armies fighting on their lands simultaneously, referring to Turkish, Iranian and Russian military interventions, as well as Israeli strikes, not to mention ISIS, which attracted fighters from all sides before defeated.

In addition, he warned of the deteriorating living conditions in the country and the increasing poverty and destitution, stressing that Syria will need several generations to rebuild what the conflict has destroyed.

As for the children of Syria, he said: "Many young people have been deprived of medicine and food, and they have been arrested."

He also pointed out that the violence in the country go unstopped despite the significant decline in its pace this year, calling for pushing for a peaceful solution despite the difficulties and obstacles.

He called on all Syrians to demonstrate the political will to reach a solution to the crisis.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian crisis, which ended its tenth year, left more than 388,000 people dead, and the tragedy continues.
