Aldar Khalil: Resistance must be escalated till liberating Syrian lands from occupiers

Member of the Joint Presidency of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Aldar Khalil, stressed the need to escalate the struggle and resistance "until defeating of the Turkish Occupation and the liberation of Afrin and all the occupied lands."

The Afrin County Council held a meeting in Sardam camp hall in al-Shahba canton, with attendance hundreds of residents, in addition to PYD member Aldar Khalil.

Khalil delivered a speech at the meeting, in which he explained the overall political situation in the region and Syria. He also spoke in particular about the Turkish occupation of Afrin, and the need to continue the struggle and resistance against the occupation.

'We take our inevitable decision to liberate Afrin.'

Added" the struggle is continuous in the spirit of Afrin's resistance, Afrin still fresh in our minds, we took our inevitable decision, we will never give up it, the circumstance forced us to leave it geographically, but we will insist to liberate Afrin till the last breath to re-take it.

'Democratic Nation Project to ensure peace and stability in Syria'

Khalil noted the countries intervening in the Syrian crisis are the ones that are working to prolong it in a way that is consistent with their interests, and added, "When the democratic nation project began in NE, Syria, it appeared that this project would contribute to strengthening peace, stability and progress in Syria. This matter did not satisfy the dominant powers and the countries interfering in the Syrian crisis, especially Turkey, so the endeavors to occupy the Syrian lands began, starting with Afrin, with the aim of breaking the will of the people of the region and ending the democratic nation project, and thus the victory of (Jabhet al-Nusra, Daesh/ ISIS) project, instead of the nation’s project Democracy. "

He talked about Turkish attacks against legitimate defense areas, especially againt Gara Mount, Turkish occupation used sophisticated weapons to control on the area by blocking the roads between Kurdistan areas in order to occupy Şengal province and severing the link between it and Rojava, but those attacks did not succeed, and the Turkish state suffered heavy losses in this attack.

Khalil added, "The defeats suffered by the Turkish occupation state prevented it from continuing the attacks, and claimed that it withdrew from the mountains to hide the truth about the failures that it suffered in those mountains, in front of a force that only possesses ordinary weapons."

Aldar concluded his speech by saying, "With the continued resistance and struggle of the people of Afrin in al-Shahba canton, we will defeat the Turkish fascist occupation and liberate Afrin and all the occupied lands, and live a decent life."
