IC: American soldier wounded, entrepreneur killed, 5 contractors wounded in Hewlêr

The International Coalition announced the loss of a entrepreneur his life and the wounding of 5 contractors and one American soldier, following the attacks on Hewlêr Airport.

“Initial reports of indirect fire on coalition forces in Erbil tonight stated that one civilian contractor was killed, 5 civilian contractors were wounded, and one American soldier was wounded," International Coalition spokesman Colonel Wayne Maruto said on Twitter.

The Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced that there were injuries by launching a number of rockets at Hewlêr and its environs.

The ministry stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), on Monday, that at half past nine this evening, a number of rockets were launched towards the city of Hewlêr and its environs, where they fell on several sites, and according to preliminary information, there are a number of wounded.

She added that the concerned authorities continue to follow up and investigate in this regard, calling on citizens to stay away from the targeted places and stay home.
