AA General Council approves Women's Coordination being part of its structure

On Thursday, the General Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria held its regular meeting No. 33 in the presence of representatives of Legislative Councils in all Autonomous and Civil Administrations in North and East Syria, and in the presence of the Head of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Ilham Ahmed.

The meeting began with reading the annual report of the General Council and reading the reports of the Legislative Councils in the Autonomous and Civil Administrations in North and East Syria.

Ilham Ahmed submitted an intervention in which she focused on the overall political situation in the region and explained the mechanisms of the Autonomous Administration's dealing with all of these circumstances and variants, stressing the need to adhere to the administration's principles in the face of the vast amount of threats, especially by the Turkish state, its mercenaries and the remnants of ISIS in the region.

Then, the participants discussed the organizational situation, where a number of new members took the oath, and Mr. Joseph Lahdou took the oath as deputy co-presidency in the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, instead of Mrs. Elizabeth Gewria.

Voting took place to approve the Women's Coordination becoming part of the structure of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

During the meeting, the performance of the Legislative Councils in the Autonomous and Civil Administrations of North and East Syria was evaluated and some aspects of work during the year 2020 were criticized, and then a wide range of proposals were submitted to work on them during the new year.
