Sheikho: Turkey and Damascus aim to pit street against Autonomous Administration

The co-chair of the Executive Council for Democratic Civil Administration in the city of Manbij and its countryside, Muhammad Khair Sheikho, confirmed that several parties are trying to destabilize the security and stability that the regions of northern and eastern Syria enjoy, but the Autonomous Administration continues to keep pace with the wheel of development.

Muhammad Khair Sheikho’s speech came during an interview with our agency in light of the increasing challenges that the Autonomous Administration in the regions of northern and eastern Syria face recently, “The Autonomous Administration areas enjoy security, safety, and livelihoods, unlike other regions in Syria, especially after the imposition of sanctions on Syria and the application of the Caesar Act."

Sheikho referred to the challenges facing the administration, and said: “Other parties are trying to undermine this security and safety, but despite the challenges and difficulties facing the economy in general, the Autonomous Administration continues in northeastern Syria to keep pace with the pace of development, in terms of providing types of services and attention to the living conditions of citizens and workers within the administration. "

The Turkish threats and the ongoing attacks on the region are the most prominent challenges facing the Autonomous Administration in the areas of its spread in northern and eastern Syria, in addition to the movements of ISIS remnants and its sleeper cells and its constant endeavor in parallel with Turkey's moves to undermine the region's stability and security.

This corresponds to attempts to cause discord and confusion by the Damascus government, with the aim of pitting the street against the Autonomous Administration and causing discord among the components of the region.

The region has also recently suffered from the spread of the Coronavirus and the accompanying restrictions and measures that affected public life and services in the region and the world.

Speaking about the challenges, Muhammad Khair Sheikho said, "The people in the regions of northeastern Syria live in a state of security and stability despite all economic difficulties, starting from the spread of the Corona virus and ending with security and political tensions in the regions of northern and eastern Syria."

The co-chair of the Executive Council for Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij said, "Many parties seek to destabilize this security and stability in the region with the aim of striking the Autonomous Administration project, which is the unique model in Syria."

He explained that "external parties, led by the Turkish state and the Syrian government, do not like this security and safety, so they use all means to destabilize this stability, by stirring up strife among all sects and components in the region."

Sheikho mentioned that the recent state of tension in the city of Hasaka and Qamishlo is an example of this, and said "the National Defense groups seek to inflame the situation in the region."

In the conclusion of his speech, he also mentioned the repeated Turkish attacks on the areas adjacent to the lines of contact on the northern and western fronts of Manbij to spread fear and panic among the people.
