With several messages, celebration of Kobane liberation anniversary concluded

A celebration was held in Kobane city on Wednesday on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of Kobane resistance victory against ISIS mercenaries on January 26, 2015, and the seventh anniversary of the declaration of the Autonomous Administration there on the 27^th of the same month in 2014, as the people celebrate both occasions every year in Kobane city.

The celebration was organized in Martyr Agîd Square, in the presence of a large crowd of the canton's people, in addition to the participation of delegations from several cities from north and east Syria.

Free peoples victory over terrorism

The co-chair of the Executive Council in the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates region, Mohamed Shaheen, delivered a speech in which he congratulated all the peoples of the world, especially the peoples of north and east Syria, and the families of the martyrs on this "holy day."

Shaheen added: "On this day, we remember the anniversary of the liberation of Kobane city and the victory achieved by the fighters of the People and Women Protection Units (YPG – YPJ). The victory achieved was the victory of free peoples over terrorism, and the day the world got rid of global terrorism which was the day of the free peoples' will victory. The day of Kobane victory was hope for the oppressed peoples who seek to achieve their freedom and democracy."

He explained: "The place we are today is a holy place, in which ISIS mercenaries and all forms of extremism have been broken, but today we see terrorism penetrating Jarablus, al-Bab, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, so you must continue the struggle and sacrifice until you achieve what you started in this city." Just as the world supported us in liberating Kobane from terrorism, it will support us in liberating all cities from terrorism."

At the end of his speech, Mohamed Shaheen said: "On this blessed day, we send our peace and greetings to all the peoples who took to the streets and rose up in support of Kobane and all the peoples who refused to let Kobane city live under the black terrorist dress."

People must stand together and struggle to break Turkish occupation's ambitions

The co-chair of the Internal Affairs Body in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Ali Hejjo, delivered a speech in which he said: "Kobane revolution spread throughout Syria and the world, and rid the world of terrorism that was threatening the whole world because the day of eliminating ISIS terrorism was a day of building a free and decent life. The resistance of Kobane people and the People Protection Units was unprecedented and turned into a heroic resistance that continued until the elimination of ISIS in al-Baghouz."

In the context of his speech, Hejjo referred to the role of the Turkish occupation in supporting extremism and terrorism, saying: "Today the Turkish occupation state rejects co-existence and the decent life. We call on all peoples to join hands, struggle to achieve stability, peace and democracy in all parts of Syria and break the Turkish occupation state's ambitions and objectives."

Hejjo renewed the Autonomous Administration's pledge, saying: "We in the Autonomous Administration renew our pledge that we will continue on the path of our martyrs until the final victory of our people is achieved."

No party would be able to divide our cohesion and solidarity

Zuleikha Abdi gave a speech on behalf of the Future Syria Party before presenting a memorial picture of the martyr Hevrin Khalaf on behalf of the party's council in Raqqa to the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates region.

Zuleikha said during her speech: "In the name of Raqqa Council of the Future Syria Party, we came to join our people in Kobane because we will not allow anyone to disperse us, and what distinguishes us is that we are Syrians, belong to Syria and are proud of our Syria. We call for unity which is the only that enables us to liberate all Syrian territories."

She continued saying: "Today, the Syrian people have proven that they are one people after ISIS wreaked havoc among our cities Raqqa and Kobane, and did not distinguish between any sex or gender. With our unity, we liberated the two cities with the blood of our sons and daughters."

She explained that Kobane should be the center for announcing the unity of the Syrian lands, just as Kobane was the center for the liberation of North and East Syria, stressing that they in the Future Syria Party stress the unity of Syria, land and people, and that no party would be able to differentiate between their cohesion and solidarity.

Zuleikha Abdi addressed her speech to the martyrs, saying: "Peace be with you, martyrs, with your blood you liberated Syria, and the Syrian history will write that we, with your blood, reached our freedom and with the tears of your mothers, we defended our land and our dignity."

Turkey is preventing societies from achieving their freedom

The Member of the Kongra Star Coordination in the Euphrates region, Hadla Hassen, gave a speech in which she said: "In the name of the Women's Movement in the Euphrates region, we congratulate all peoples that seek salvation from oppression and terrorism on this day, the day of our people's victory."

She added: "What happened in terms of victory and liberation was thanks to the People's Protection Units, and today we see that the Turkish occupation is renewing its approach to attacking the peoples' freedom and preventing societies from achieving their freedom."

Ibrahim Mohamed, the Foreign Relations' official in al-Tabqa, presented a memorial shield to Kobane's administration, stressing that Kobane's resistance is still continuing throughout Syria in general.

The celebration included artistic performances and the celebrants held Dabkeh rings in celebration of the anniversary of the liberation of Kobane.
