Al-Mihbash and Ilham Ahmed lash out at Damascus policies

Abid Hamed al-Mihbash and Ilham Ahmed stressed that insistence by the Syrian Government on the exclusionist mentality, the continuation of the Turkish Occupation and the policy adopted by the U.S. administration all have contributed to the lengthening of the Syrian Crisis, as they renewed commitment of the Autonomous Administration and Syria's Democratic Council to the Syrian dialogue and a political solution.

The second annual meeting of the Executive Council of North and East Syria is under way in the city of Raqqa as the political situation in the region is being evaluated in addition to achievements made by the Autonomous Administration in 2020.

The report of the Autonomous Administrant of North and East Syria was read by Abid Hamed al-Mihbash, co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, that reads " today, most Syrians are either IDPs or refugees, all owing to the Regime that adopts the military solution and to the occupation of some areas of the Syrian soil.

Al-Mihbash added '' in 2020 we faced many challenges that obstructed the works scheduled by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, of which continuation of the Turkish Occupation and violation of the agreed upon ceasefire agreement amid international, Russian and U.S. silence''.

Al-Mihbash went on to say'' all species of crimes are being perpetrated by the Turkish Occupation and the affiliated mercenary groups against people in North Eastern Styria, in addition to the policies of Turkification, imposition of the Turkish Lira and the demographic change'', adding '' human rights agreements and charters have never been abided by Turkey''.

Al-Mihbash confirmed that '' many policies are being adopted by the Syrian Regime against the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and people with the aim of displacement, as well as ISIS sleeper cells that threaten the region and assassinate civil servants of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, as well as Arab tribal chieftains''.

Al-Mihbash went on to say '' Russia preserves silence in reference to attacks carried out by the Turkish Occupation on North Eastern Syria, in special on the Ain Issa District that arouses suspicions of a Turkish – Russian agreement that paves the way for the entry of the Syrian Government Forces into the area.

Al-Mihbash said'' in reference to the intra-Syrian dialogue, many meetings were held by Syria's democratic Council with Syrian parts in bids to reach a political solution and approach all political Syrian parties'', the Jazira and Euphrates National Conference was held with the participation of a big presence to develop work done by the Autonomous Administration, and on the agendas was the Intra –Kurdish dialogue, and that gave birth to the Follow-Up Committee to carry out recommendations''.

Al-Mihbash added " one of the challenges we encounter is the COVID-19, as measures taken by the Autonomous Administrant of North and East Syria to curb the virus''.

Al-Mihbash said'' in 2020 many western delegates came to North Eastern Syria that substantiates success of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, as well as setting up diplomatic ties with the international community for the sake to receive political recognition''.

Regarding 2021, al-Mihbash pointed out that '' we seek dialogue with the patriotic opposition to reach a political solution and to put an end to the Turkish Occupation on Syrian soil to pave the way for the return of people to their areas, supporting the Intra- Kurdish dialogue, developing the self defence system, as our aim in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is to build a decentralized Syria''.

From her part, Ilham Ahmed, head of the Executive Body of Syria's Democratic Council, commenced speech by saying '' we see that there are still hardships and challenges stand in the way to end the crisis and finding a solution to that, as the Syrian Crisis is part of the global system, all countries play their roles on the Syrian field after it was internationalized that imply hardships and challenges, as there are international interests in the Syrian Crisis and each regional part seek to delineate their presence''.

Ilham touched on the prolongation of the Syrian Crisis saying'' in spite of international or some regional support to the Syrian Regime, the crisis is being prolonged, as the regime is not ready to dialogue and clings to the military solution and the exclusionist policy against the Syrian people, for so the internal front is being scattered''.

Ilham went on to say '' the opposition contributes to the policies adopted by the regime as it has been scattered, for this, nothing has been made on the political situation'', and that '' formation of the Syrian Constitutional Committee and the Negotiation Body are all factors that strengthen the crisis, due to their structures that do not represent all political parties''. .

Ilham went on to say'' up to date, policies advocated by the U.S. administration were a cause for the Syrian Crisis to reach this stage, whether via the direct intervention or by non-intervention just as to adopt the role of spectator, as the whole world waiting for the new one regarding the adopted policy towards the Syrian Issue''.

After that, Elizabeth Gewriye, deputy co-chair to the Executive Council of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria read the service report that covers all works of the Autonomous Administrant of North and East Syria in 2020.

Worth to note that on the table, all works done in 2020 and plans and projects for 2021.
