Afghanistan: Car bomb, IED target security services

A car bomb targeted a police station, Saturday, in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan, while the deputy director of security in the Afghan capital was injured in an IED.

According to Al-Arabiya Network, two of the bodyguards of a deputy security director were killed in the Afghan capital, Kabul, due to the explosion of the explosive device.

Before that, a former journalist, a spokesman for the "Afghan Public Protection Force" of the Ministry of Interior, was killed with two of his colleagues in Kabul in a bomb explosion targeting their convoy.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Tariq Erian, said that the former journalist, Diaa Wadan, who worked for several Afghan media outlets and his colleagues, were killed before noon in the east of the capital, Kabul, and added " A car carrying Diaa Waddan was targeted by IED, resulted in killing Diaa and his companions, while a fourth person was injured"

The journalist, Diaa Wadan, was the spokesman for the Afghan General Protection Force, which provides security services for international companies operating in Afghanistan.
