Iranian official: Israeli strikes on Deir Ezzor did not left any victim

On Thursday, the Fars news agency quoted an assistant of the commander of foreign operations in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards that the Israeli raids on Wednesday on military sites in eastern Syria did not cause any casualties."

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 57 soldiers and fighters loyal to the Damascus government were killed at dawn on Wednesday in these raids, which constitute the bloodiest attack launched by Israel in Syria since the start of the conflict in this country.

The Observatory added that the strikes that targeted weapons depots and military sites in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor, in Al Bukamal desert and Al-Mayadeen resulted in the killing of at least 14 members of the Damascus government and 43 members of the Iranian forces, including 16 Iraqis and 11 Afghans.

Fars agency replied that this information was "a lie and media propaganda", according to Ahad Karim Khani, an assistant commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guard in charge of political affairs, adding that "this attack did not result in any casualties."

In recent weeks, the Israeli attacks have intensified in eastern Syria, where Iranian-sponsored fighters are deployed in Deir Ezzor governorate, adjacent to the Iraqi borders.
