The first draft resolution was not announced in the council’s hall, as it was not put to a vote by the members, but the measure was proposed in order to allow its implementation later this week.

Democrats tried to pass a bill urging Pence and the cabinet to enforce Amendment 25 in the US Constitution, but it was blocked by Republicans in the House.

For his part, the leader of the Republican majority in the House, Steny Hoyer, made an attempt to pass the bill through absolute approval, but Alex Mooney, representative of West Virginia, lodged an objection.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave Pence 24 hours to impeach Trump or the House of Representatives will act to implement the measure.
