KCDP: 300 femicides in Turkey in 2020

Stop Women's Murders, or the KCDP, revealed it's annual report, on Saturday, it which lights were shed on the major events related to the feminist struggle in Turkey, as the murder of 300 women was confirmed in the whole country, as 171 others were found dead and recorded as ''unsolved murders''.   

The KCDP, a non-governmental feminist association active in Turkey accused the Turkish Ministry of Interior of hiding many feminist murders.  

It was also adumbrated by KCDP that violence against women increased in the country during the COVID-19 Pandemic, as it also stated last year that withdrawal by the Turkish Government from the Istanbul Convention Action against violence against women contributed to the feminist murders in the whole country.

Since Erdogan's Development and Justice Party assumed power 18 years ago, at least 7500 women were murdered in Turkey, for in 2002, 66 women were murdered, the toll increased in the period from 2007 to 2009, to more than a 1000 murders, as 474 were murdered in 2019 and 300 ones in 2020.
