Six Russian and Chinese strategic bombers have conducted a joint patrol in the Asia-Pacific region, the second since July 2019.

On Tuesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that 6 Russian and Chinese strategic bombers have conducted a second joint patrol between the two countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The ministry stated, in a statement, that two Russian "Tu-95MS" strategic bombers and four Chinese "Hun-6K" strategic bombers participated in the operation.

The statement indicated that the mission was carried out with full observance of both sides of the provisions of international law, without breaching the airspace of other countries.

Russian Ministry of Defense said: "The conduct of joint air patrols between Russia and China was conducted with the aim of developing the partnership between the two countries, raising the level of coordination between their armed forces, and enhancing the two countries' ability to conduct joint military operations, as well as to enhance strategic stability in the world."

The statement noted that the patrol was conducted within the framework of implementing the military cooperation plan between the two countries for the year 2020, and was not directed against other countries.

Russia and China conducted the first joint air patrol in the region on July 23, 2019.
