The Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, confirmed that there is a measure of optimism after Washington's decision to impose sanctions on Turkey.

He said that Turkey is seen as a destabilizing factor in our region, noting that Ankara has stopped dialogue with Athens and not the other way around.

He also added: "We have to make it clear to Turkey where the red lines are," stressing that Turkey must stop provocations.

He said: "I assure you that the European Union deals with Turkey now as a problem facing Europe, and not as a country that has differences with Greece and Cyprus."
