Jaafar: Agreement on Şengal is extension of comprehensive occupation plot

Member of the Administrative Council of the Syrian Yazidis Union, Suleiman Jaafar, views Hewler-Baghdad agreement on Şengal as an extension of a comprehensive occupation plot targeting the entire geography of Kurdistan.

Jaafar pointed out that last June's Turkish occupation attack on the Haftanin area in the legitimate defense zones (Medya), is the beginning of a comprehensive plot targeting Şengal and Rojava, (mostly-populated Kurdish areas in northeast Syria).

Jaafar said: "The agreement is a continuation of the Turkish occupation plots and aggression against Haftanin, Maxmur, and besieging Şengal district."

Jaafar highlighted the involvement of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the Şengal massacre in 2014, “There were about 12,000 Peshmerga forces in Şengal district, but they handed it over to ISIS mercenaries.”

He continued: "This step aims to commit massacres against the Yazidis."

Jaafar concluded that "the 2014 massacre was caused by the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the first degree."

Jaafar recalled the historical role of the People's Protection Units and Women (YPG, YPJ) in saving the Yazidis, "Had it not been for the arrival of the People's Protection Units and Women to the Shengal Mountains and the opening of a humanitarian corridor for the people, there would be no Yezidis now."

Jaafar emphasized that the Yazidis would not accept the agreement, "These massacres that were committed against the Yazidis led them not to accept the countries that left them to die."
