Letter to Martyr  

On those days, the 16^th annual anniversary of martyrdom of the Shilan Kobani, member of the Central Committee of the Union Democratic Party, the PYD, with her leading comrades Zakariya, Joan and Fu'ad, who martyred in the city of Mosul at the hands of agents, in a plot machinated by both regimes in Syria and Turkey.

On this occasion, Maysa' Ibrahim, Shilan's nephew, real name Maysa' Baqi, addressed her resistance.

The letter reads as follows:

'' My dear, aunt, a rose in the land of Sun and striving women, friend and eternal martyr, Shilan Kobani.

When I was a child, at my mother's  lap, she used to mention your heroism and experience, and how you rebelled against the patriarchal society, and the Syrian Government, and who you were imprisoned at the age of 12 as a result of your rebellion and search for freedom. 

Aunt Maysa', an eternal martyr, we, as women in your homeland, we have grown up, following your resistance, awareness and knowledge, your made learn us that for to live we ought to fight, and that if to be strong we ought to arm with knowledge and science on the philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan and martyrs path.

Aunt, when child, my mother used to praise you, and when grown up, I read your books and knew you closely, for your not just my aunt, rather my mind and heart, and today my friend.

I was called after you, for my mother wanted me to be under her eyes as you were.

My friend, you are not with us today, but you are more appreciated and more sacred, and I have called myself of mostly sacred ones ''Martyr'', for the sake of a peoples cause, and I have become a symbol for the Kurdish woman cause and all women's all over the world. 

Dear Shilan, Maysa' Baqi, I would like today to send you good news from the land of Sun, that your path has been followed by thousands of martyrs and fighters who promised that they won't renegade till get freedom on homeland and for the sake of our people. 

Dear, we are unable to praise you and your heroism and sacrifice but a little.

Aunt, on the occasion of your martyrdom, our wounds, friends' and beloveds', renew, as our promise do to you and martyrs, that we would follow your path''.
