Iran on possibility of Trump's military strike: It to be met by overwhelming response

Iran confirmed, today, that it has the military strength to confront and respond to “any reckless adventure by any aggressor,” threatening that any US move against it will be met with a “crushing response”, after news that the US president might launch a military strike on Iran.

A spokesman for the Iranian mission to the United Nations, Alireza Meriosfi, said that Iran "has the ability to respond to any reckless adventure by any aggressor," according to the official Iranian news agency (IRNA).

For his part, Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei said, "Any American move against Iran will definitely be met with an overwhelming response." He added that "the international community, including international courts, condemned the policies of the American regime due to the damage it caused as a result of the embargo imposed on Iran," Iranian "Fars" news agency reported.

The "New York Times" stated in a report that Trump asked his senior advisers last Thursday about the options available to launch an attack on Iran's main nuclear site, but his advisers convinced him not to carry out any military strike.
