​​​​​​​ SDC condemns terrorist act in Vienna, calls for forming international system for accountability

This came through a statement issued by the SDC today, in which it said:

"Once again, terrorism targets the safe people in the Austrian capital, Vienna, claiming lives of four people and a number of wounded.

We in the SDC condemn this cowardly terrorist act, and fully stand in solidarity with the Austrian people in this tragedy. We believe that it is necessary for the international community to take measures to maintain security and protect the safe in the world from terrorist attacks, extremism and violence of all forms.

Accordingly, we call for establishing an international system that works to monitor international decisions related to combating terrorism and holding accountable countries that support it.

And while we call on the international community to work to increase coordination and cooperation in order to eliminate extremist ideology, whether it is the global "Al Qaeda" organization and its offshoots or ISIS, we call on the Global Coalition to fight ISIS to continue its work in order to eliminate terrorism, pursue its sleeper cells and prosecute its members in NE Syria.

We also call on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the Global Coalition (GC) to fight ISIS, pursue ISIS elements in the areas occupied by Turkey, whether in Afrin or Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain), and the banners and symbols of the terrorist organization ISIS that have recently been seen raising in their marches and rituals similar to those that were held during the control of ISIS in Syria and Iraq, as these areas (i.e. Afrin and Ras al-Ain) became a safe haven and a fertile ground for the export of terrorism and extremism again. Thus, exporting it to the world and threatening its security and peace.

In conclusion, we offer condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, the government and people of the Republic of Austria, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured."
