The meeting between the Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the Swede Foreign Affairs Ministry delegation ended through a press conference, in which the two parties revealed the main points addressed by the meeting that was held at the Center for Foreign Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration in Qamishlo city, north-east Syria.

On Saturday afternoon, a high-level delegation from the Swede Foreign Affairs Ministry arrived in the regions of north and east Syria via Semalka border crossing to meet with political and military officials in the region. The delegation included the Special Envoy of the Syrian Crisis in the Foreign Ministry Piere Ornious, the Head of the Humanitarian File and Aides in the Foreign Ministry Tomas Marcus, and Counselor in the European Institute for Peace, Avin Jetin.

The Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Abdul Kareem Omar, started the press conference by expressing thanks and gratitude to the visiting Swede delegation, and for Sweden's stance towards the Turkish occupation of the regions of north and east Syria.

He added: "We indicated the delegation to the violations committed by the occupation against human rights in the occupied regions, the demographic change committed by Turkey and its mercenaries against the Syrian lands, and the conditions of the displaced. We also touched on the difficulties that the region is suffering from due to the imposed blockage, and the closed crossings, especially Tel Koçer border crossing."

He continued saying: "We also explained to which extent the region is affected by the U.S. Caesar sanctions, noting that the closure of this crossing greatly affects the reality of the displaced people in the Autonomous Administration camps, as well as the refugees. We made clear that it is necessary to deliver aid to the regions of north and east Syria via the Autonomous Administration," not by Damascus' government, if the Swede government wants to deliver it to the required place."

On behalf of the Swede Foreign Ministry delegation, the Head of the delegation, the Special Envoy for the Syrian File in the Swede Foreign Affairs Ministry, Piere Ornious, said: "I am happy to visit the regions of north and east Syria. This visit is our second visit to the region, and a year has passed since our first visit. The reason for our visit again to the region is to see the reality of the region and the assistance provided by our government."
