France: Four dead, one missing in plane collision

Four people were killed, yesterday, Saturday, when a glider collided with another small tourist in Lelouch, in the west of the country, in an accident, in which a fifth person was missing, while search is being going on for a fifth person who is still missing.

The local official in the Indre - a- Loire district Nadia Sagheer told France Press news agency that a sailing plane taking two people on board and a tourist plane model (D- 400) taking on board 3 people collided with each other between 16,30 and 17,00".

And clarified that " the first plane fell on the fence of a house in Lelouch, with no causalities reported, while the second fell in an unpopulated area hundreds of meters away". 

The Attorney General of Tor, Gregoire Dolan, said that "two bodies were found inside the glider and two others were inside the plane," while the public prosecutor suggested that a person had fallen from the plane "who had not yet been found." What was reported by Agence France-Presse.

Dolan continued that: "The pilot is 75 years old, and the passengers are 28 and 30 years old, while the glider captain is 66 years old and the passenger is 50 years old."

The public prosecutor said that the glider took off from Châtolourou at 3:15 pm and was carrying two people, while the second plane, a Ruban DR 400, took off from Poitiers at 3 pm, and its passengers were conducting a tour over the mansions of the Loire region in clear skies.

An investigation into the accident was opened and will be conducted by the Transportation Police Brigade in Roissy and Brest and the Indre-A-Loire district police congregation, in addition to the deployment of about 50 firefighting workers and about 30 policemen, and searches were continuing in the evening, the reasons of the accident are still unknown.

The residents of the house where the plane fell above its wall were not present in it at the moment of the accident, bearing in mind that the area is a residential area bounded by a road that usually witnesses congestion.
