Explosion at ammunition store in Libyan capital, Tripoli

The newspaper reported that the explosion occurred in the popular area of ​​Sidi Abdel Jalil in the coastal municipality of Janzour, specifically in a weapons store belonging to an armed group, near the headquarters of the United Nations mission.

On the other hand, a military source told Al-Hurra that the cause of the explosion was high temperatures.

For his part, the spokesman for the ambulance and emergency services, Osama Ali, confirmed that the explosion did not cause any casualties.

In the Libyan context, the Independent Fact-Finding Commission mandated by the United Nations Human Rights Council to monitor human rights violations in Libya will present an oral report to the council on Monday under its forty-fifth regular session, which ends next Tuesday.

The Independent Fact-Finding Commission was established by the United Nations Council in its session in June of this year, and its mandate continues for one year with the aim of investigating violations and abuses of human rights throughout Libya by all parties, since the beginning of 2016, with the aim of preventing further deterioration of the human rights situation there and ensuring accountability.
