Libyan sources: Turkey prepares to send Libyan mercenaries to fight in Azerbaijan

A Libyan security source revealed that a meeting was held late Friday evening in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, between officers from the Turkish intelligence and defense ministry and a number of leaders of groups affiliated with the Government of National Accord to recruit Libyans to fight in Azerbaijan.

The source pointed out that the Turkish officers asked, in their meeting with the leaders of the National Accord, to nominate Libyan mercenaries specializing in cornet and sniper weapons, provided that their number, as a first stage, does not exceed 50 mercenaries to transfer them to Azerbaijan in exchange for 5000 dollars per month granted to the Libyan mercenary paid by the Azerbaijani government and delivered to them through Turkish elements, according to Al-Arabiya net.

Earlier, the spokesman for the Libyan National Army, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, revealed that "Turkey is now transferring Libyan and Syrian terrorists and hard liners, and of other nationalities, from Libya to Azerbaijan," to support the latter in its battles against Armenia in the disputed region.

Yesterday evening, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights SOHR announced that at least 28 Syrian mercenaries affiliated with Turkey, who were fighting with the Azerbaijani forces in Nagorno Karabakh, were killed since the start of the confrontations with the Armenian forces.
