Muslim: With solidarity, we to stand against plots hatched against peoples' will

On the occasion of the seventeenth anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the Party held a meeting in the Dreamland Park in Qamishlo under the slogan "With the Democratic Union, We Defeat the Occupation, Develop the Autonomous Administration and Build a Democratic Syria."

Dozens of the Party members, representatives of political parties and civil society institutions participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Co-Chair of the Democratic Union Party, Anwar Muslim, talked about the history of the founding of the Democratic Union Party, and explained that the Party, since its establishment on September 20, 2003 to the present day has been struggling for freedom and democracy, and adopting the concept of the democratic nation and the peoples' fraternity. He pointed out that the Party has passed many stages and exposed to a lot of harassment and obstruction, while never gave up its principles.

Anwar Muslim indicated that dozens of the Party members sacrificed their life in order to preserve the principles and values of the Party.

Turning to the Turkish attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, he indicated that Turkey targets the security and stability of the region, and attacks any democratic project adopted by the peoples, and said: "With the brotherhood of peoples and the solidarity of components, we will confront all attacks and stand in the face of plots being hatched against the will of the people."

Muslim called on all components of the region to join ranks and defend the gains made by virtue of the blood of thousands of martyrs.
