The clashes took place in the Shah Wali Kot district, and the Afghan security forces repelled the attack, and 4 Taliban bicycles were destroyed.

The statement did not provide details about possible casualties among the Afghan security forces during the attack, and the Taliban did not comment on it either.

Last Thursday, Kabul announced the release of almost all Taliban prisoners from prisons, in an important step on the road to the peace process in Afghanistan, but few of the movement’s prisoners, France and Australia refused to release them.

"The government has released the last 400 prisoners, except for a few that concern our partners," said National Security Council spokesman Javed Faisal on the social networking site, noting that Kabul is awaiting the start of peace talks with the Taliban "quickly."
