On the destruction of places of worship, Hawar news agency ANHA met with a member of the Religious Committee of the Islamic Conference in North and East Syria, Saqr Khalil, and spoke at the beginning about ISIS mercenaries while they were in the region in 2015.

Exploited Islam and its destructive ideology is apparent

Saqr al-Khalil began his speech by saying: "When we start talking about the devastation that befell the region, we recall the mercenaries of ISIS during their attack on the region in 2015, and their targeting and destruction of mosques and churches."

He recalled the saying of God Almighty that the believers seek to build mosques, but ISIS mercenaries attacked the region under the banner of Islam and its name, and used pulpits as trumpets for strife and destruction, in addition to destroying a number of churches, mosques and a number of religious sites in the region.

Turkey is on the line of ISIS in destroying religious sanctities

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries have resorted to the practices and violations of ISIS mercenaries themselves, and have exploited the Islamic religion to occupy the regions of northern and eastern Syria.

During its recent attacks on the area, the occupation targeted one of the large mosques in the city of Serêkaniyê, in addition to its continued threats to churches and mosques in the villages located on the front lines west of Tal Tamr district, through indiscriminate shelling by the occupation forces from time to time.

Khalil pointed out, "After the liberation of the region from ISIS mercenaries, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries entered the city of Afrin, and then to the cities of Serêkaniyê and Girê Sipi / / Tal Abyad to show their true and similar faces to ISIS mercenaries and their targets."

"All the forces hostile to the region operate under the banner of the Islamic religion, and through them they target places of worship and homes of God," he added.

Khalil indicated that the mosques and churches on the demarcation lines are vulnerable to destruction due to the indiscriminate targeting of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

"The Islamic religion is in danger with the existence of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, because of their exploitation of religion to achieve their goals and crimes in the region," Khalil said.

Turkey and ISIS mercenaries are two sides of the same coin
