The practices and assaults of the Turkish state against women in Turkey, Bakur Kurdistan and the areas it occupies provoke widespread reactions by women and activists.

In this regard, the Free Women Union in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton made a statement to the public opinion, which was read by Fatima Jammo, the Administrator in the Union.

The statement read: "Women were and still are the most suffering, sacrificial, and vulnerable to violations in the history of wars, and the Syrian war is no exception. Throughout history, women have suffered from various types of violence, injustice, persecution, displacement and intimidation, especially with the intervention of the Turkish state which built its history on massacres and betrayal in the Syrian crisis, and its support for extremist terrorist groups, as women were subjected to the most inhumane practices of captivity, killing, kidnapping and rape at their hands.

In Turkey, the young woman  (Ibak) committed a suicide against the background of being sexually assaulted by a Turkish officer in Turkey, who threatened her with death after his crime that led to her severe psychological breakdown, which indicates the ruling political mentality.

Kidnappings have also increased in the areas occupied by the fascist Turkish state in Afrin, al-Shahba, northern Syria, Idlib, Hama, and all the occupied Syrian territories with the aim of rape, ransom, selling girls and transporting them to Libya, especially the mercenaries of the al-Hamzat and al-Sultan Morad supported by the Turkish state, and this is evidence of Turkey's persistence in its immoral policy against women, reveals the extent of its meanness, and it is a stain on the forehead of humanity and all human rights organizations.

What these groups are doing is a clear violation and a flagrant and public violation of all international covenants, and these practices are truly genocide against women and the right of all components.

We, the Free Women Union in al-Shahba from all components, condemn and denounce in the strongest and harshest terms the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation against women, these crimes are among the most severe types of terrorism against humanity, and we appeal to all women organizations in the world and the United Nations to stop the attacks and end the injustice and terrorism practiced against women, exposing these violations practiced against women in international forums and the international community, and prosecuting the perpetrators of crimes of violence against women wherever they are in accordance with international principles and laws. We call on you to join hands to end injustice and terrorism against women and all humanity."

The statement ended by chanting slogans, "Women Are the Free Life."
