The Co-Chair of Girê Spî Canton Council Hamid al-Abed's talk came during an interview with our agency's correspondents, commenting on the daily attacks on the populated areas in the occupied countryside of Girê Spî.

Hamid al-Abed confirmed that the recent attacks and bombing of the Turkish occupation directly affect the populated villages in the western and southern countryside of Girê Spî canton.

"These attacks are carried out in full view of the Syrian government and the Russian guarantor without any movement even though the Syrian government is present in those areas and the Russian guarantor is supervising the ceasefire agreement in the region," al-Abd added.

In the last days, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries intensified its random bombardment of the populated villages of Girê Spî, al-Saleeb, Abdo Koy, in addition to the outskirts of Ain Issa and the M4 international road.

The Syrian government forces are deployed along the lines of contact with the areas occupied by Turkey in both Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê, following its recent aggression against the regions of northern and eastern Syria on the 9th of October of last year.

The co-chair stressed the need for the Syrian government to have a firm stance towards what is happening; the Turkish attacks on the villages of Girê Spî canton because they are Syrian villages, and it is the government's duty to defend and respond to any attack on its lands.

And he indicated that the Russian guarantor had previously promised them to respond to any Turkish aggression on the region, "but until the moment we have not seen any response from them. On the contrary, there are violations and attacks on the M4 international road even after Russia declared it as safe."

Civilians and drivers are being targeted on the international road in daylight, as a number of civilians were injured by snipers at the Turkish point adjacent to al-Hoshan village in Ain Issa district, without any action or condemnation from the "Russian guarantor."

Hamid al-Abed affirmed that "the international silence regarding Turkish violations and encroachments on our regions and in other Arab countries such as Libya and Iraq is a green light that increases the Turkish violations against the neighboring countries, as they no longer respect the sanctity of a neighboring country and breach all the international decisions and conventions that prevent infringement on the sovereignty and territory of a neighboring country."

At the end of his speech, he appealed to human rights organizations to raise their voice in the face of Turkey, regarding the attacks taking place on the safe and populated areas, and to consider the crimes that are occurring in the areas it occupies such as Afrin, Jarablus and Girê Spî canton.

Many crimes and violations are occurring against the remaining residents of the occupied territories, including murder and kidnapping with the intent to pay ransom, not to mention the arrest of innocent civilians and women, theft of property and other violations. A large number of them were documented and presented, but they received only some shy convictions from some civic organizations.
