Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a phone call the situation in Syria and Libya, according to the Kremlin press office.

The two sides stressed, according to the Russian RIA Novosti agency, the need for the warring parties to take real steps towards a sustainable ceasefire and start direct negotiations in accordance with the decisions of the Berlin Conference and Security Council Resolution No. 2510 on the Libyan crisis.

The Kremlin said, "The two presidents discussed the need to intensify joint efforts in combating terrorism while discussing the situation in Syria, and the two parties agreed to further coordinate steps in this direction to fulfill bilateral agreements regarding conducting patrols in Idlib."
