Media Professionals clarify Turkish occupation's goals, ambitions

Media outlets stated that one of the strategic goals of the Turkish occupation is the extermination of the Kurds, and emphasized the influential and effective role of media and the need to awaken the political parties, achieve rapprochement among the Kurdish parties, and take serious positions on the dangers to which the Kurdish people are exposed.

Since June 15^th, the Turkish occupation state has been launching attacks on Kurdistan, such as Mexmûr camp which houses thousands of displaced civilians in northern Kurdistan since decades, Şengal, and the legitimate defense zones (Media).

In this regard, our agency has monitored the opinions of the media professionals about the role that the media and journalists should play in this stage of the attacks it is waging on Kurdistan and the Kurdish people, and the silence of Başûr Kurdistan government.

Alan Maesh, a news presenter on Ronahi TV channel explained that the Turkish state aims to occupy the border areas between Başûr and Bakur Kurdistan, "southern and northern Kurdistan." He continued: "These attacks whether on Şengal, Mexmûr camp, the legitimate defense zones and Rojava mainly aim to exterminate the Kurdish people."

We were waiting for a quick and serious attitude!

Regarding the silence of Başûr Kurdistan's government and not taking any swift and strong stance towards Turkey's attacks on the regions of Başûr Kurdistan, Maesh said: "We were waiting for a quick and serious attitude from the Başûr Kurdistan government, especially since the Başûr Kurdistan people reject and denounce the Turkish occupation attacks on Başûr Kurdistan regions, but the government issued a statement accusing the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) of being the primary reason for the Turkish state launching its attacks on Başûr Kurdistan regions. In fact, we no longer understand what Başûr Kurdistan government thinks about."

Maesh drew attention to the influential and effective role of the media, and said: "The media has an effective role in all parts of Kurdistan, especially in highlighting the truth of the people, and it must awaken the political parties, and to see itself first of all as a Kurd and that its duty is to achieve rapprochement among the Kurdish parties and to take serious positions about the dangers to which the Kurdish people are exposed."

The Journalist Bangin Sido, the Co-chair of the Free Media Union explained that the attacks of the Turkish occupation on the regions of Başûr Kurdistan are not strange, and said: "The Turkish state has been launching its attacks on all Kurdish lands since ancient times."

Sido explained that Turkey seeks to create sedition among the Kurdish people, and said: "The Kurdish political parties reaching unified political visions showed Turkey's unacceptability of this step that aims to achieve the Kurdish unity by launching its attacks on the areas of Başûr Kurdistan, and these attacks constitute a great danger on the civilians."

Sido pointed out that the Turkish state poses a threat to the Arab countries as well, and seeks to implement its occupational schemes in the countries of the world, especially the Arab countries, such as Syria and Libya, which is a step to restore the Ottoman caliphate.

On the international silence and the silence of the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the Turkish attacks on southern Kurdistan, Sido said: "The government of Başûr Kurdistan is not the only one that has remained silent, but the entire world has not taken any serious position. The government of France a few days ago issued statements against the Turkish attacks, but in practice it has not taken any serious position yet."

Sido explained that the intellectuals, politicians and media professionals in Başûr Kurdistan must realize that they face a danger greater than which the people of the regions of northeastern Syria face. He added: " He said, "We ask the Kurdish intellectuals, politicians and media professionals to show their stance towards the practices of the Turkish occupation, and to pressure the political parties and governments to take serious and strict positions against the occupation."
